Barcelona, 18 September 2014 – DEXMA, a Barcelona-based company that offers energy management software for corporate, tertiary, and industrial buildings, has raised €1 million in new funding.
Boyser, owned by the Serra family that co-founded Fluidra, invested in the company together with existing shareholders. These funds are in addition to the €540,000 of public financing recently raised through the KIC InnoEnergy and EEA Grants programmes, arriving at a total of €1 million.
The operation also included a strengthening of the shareholding of technology investors Ignacio Fonts and Greg Lee, facilitating the departure of the José Manuel Entrecanales Foundation from the company.
DEXMA has over 600 clients worldwide, among them major firms such as the NH hotel chain, the Chedraui supermarket chain in Mexico, H10, VIPS, the DIA supermarket chain, the public buildings of the Catalan Government and of the Spanish Defense Ministry, Radisson Hotels, and Colonial.
DEXMA’s SaaS products are cited by US and UK market researchers as a global leaders in their category: providing utility bill tracking and real-time monitoring to deliver energy savings of up to 35% on electricity, water, and gas for building owners and facility managers.
DEXMA CEO Joan Pinyol says the funds will be used to accelerate the company’s international sales outside Spain, which represented 25% of all revenue in 2013. DEXMA recently stepped up its sales efforts abroad by creating a new affiliate in the UK, now the second-highest performing country in the firm’s sales ranking, followed by Italy, France, Belgium, and the Netherlands.
DEXMA currently serves customers in 24 countries through its growing partner network of more than 150 companies, including major energy providers and electricity marketers.
